The XVIII Airborne Corps' major fighting component is the 82nd Airborne Division, which is based at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. The 82nd Division was formed in the National Army on August 5, 1917, and was organized at Camp Gordon, Georgia, on August 25, 1917.
